Agent Farrell and his team have Joshua backed into a corner.
At the NSMZ base, a Maelstrom permie rig and a team of scientists await Joshua’s arrival.
Silently observing from the sidelines is Peter Yee of the Siuping Clan, a powerful crime boss to whom Joshua owes a favor.
Caught between two formidable entities who want to exploit his talents for their own purpose, Joshua has one option: join the Siuping Clan as an enforcer. Instead, Yee surprises Joshua with an unexpected offer—the opportunity of a lifetime and a way out of the killing and the death he’s known his whole life.
All Joshua needs to do is survive one more night in Old Town before Yee’s jet smuggles him to a private sanctuary estate in Macau.
But betrayal is closing in from all directions…

Possibly Better than Book 1 in the Series!
Wow, I was waiting for this book ever since I read book 1 in the series and it did not disappoint. Al Davidson has created multiple characters that you can’t help but root for as they careen through this action-packed adventure all the way to the end. But is it the end for Joshua? Now I have to wait for book 3 to find out!

The next book is a definite read for me.
Gauntlet is a good title for this book because I feel like I’ve just run one. Really a fast paced page-turner, and more than a few amazing action scenes. I felt like I was watching a movie. Have to admit I cried. Should I admit that? Maybe not. Too late. That cliffhanger ending though *rips out hair*. I appreciate the author’s emotional complexity of his characters, he really does a deep dive in this one, especially Joshua, the main character.
The next book is a definite read for me

Couldn’t put it down, so other activities and priorities got delayed.
